DIAGNOSIS The capsule barcode was misread, or the flow meter is faulty. The machine thinks it's brewing an Espresso or Double Espresso pod (40-80ml) instead of a Gran Lungo or Coffee pod (230ml).
FIX Check the capsule. Ensure you are using the correct pod size for your desired drink. The barcode tells the machine volume and spin speed. Try a different pod from a new sleeve. Clean the barcode reader (the black dome inside the brew head) with a dry cloth as described earlier.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The machine's volumetric control is miscalibrated or the water inlet is partially blocked. Descale the machine. Scale in the thermoblock or lines can restrict flow, causing the machine to hit its time limit early.
HEADS UP If every pod brews short, the magnetic flow meter on the water line is likely defective. This component measures water volume. When it fails, the machine defaults to the shortest program. This requires a technician to replace.
