The default network has no password initially. Connect first, then set one up.
- Find the default Wi-Fi Name (SSID) on the product label on the back of the router. It will be ASUS_XX, where XX are the last two digits of the 2.4GHz MAC address.
- Connect your phone or computer to that open network.
- Once connected, open a web browser. The router's setup page should launch automatically. If it doesn't, go to
http://router.asus.com. - Alternatively, download the ASUS Router App, connect to the ASUS_XX network, and follow the app's setup instructions.
- During setup, you will be prompted to set a password for your router admin and create passwords for your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Write these down immediately.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If the setup page doesn't appear, ensure your device isn't using a static IP. Set it to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP). Hard reset the router by pressing the Reset button for 5-10 seconds and start over.
