keurig k-classic brewing a tiny amount of coffee then stops, just a dribble. how do i fix this?

— asked by Chloe

The exit needle is clogged with coffee grounds.

FIX:

  • Unplug the brewer.
  • Press the "PRESS TO OPEN" button and remove the K-Cup Holder Assembly.
  • Remove the funnel by pulling on it until it releases.
  • Insert a paper clip into the exit needle at the bottom of the holder to loosen the clog and push it out.
  • Rinse the holder and funnel under a faucet. The holder and funnel are dishwasher safe.
  • Reassemble and snap the holder back into the brewer.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The brewer needs descaling. White deposits (scale) in the hot water tank hinder performance. Descale every 3-6 months with 8 ounces of undiluted white vinegar by running a brew cycle without a K-Cup, then running multiple cycles of fresh water to rinse.

HEADS UP: The entrance needle above the K-Cup holder does not require cleaning. Do not put your fingers in the K-Cup chamber.
