You're likely overloading it by pressing too hard or using the wrong speed setting. This drill has two speed ranges: Low (1) for 0-500 RPM and High (2) for 0-1,900 RPM. For heavy drilling, start in Low speed. Here's what to do:
- Ease up on the pressure. Pressing excessively won't speed up drilling; it damages the drill bit and the tool.
- Make sure you're using the correct speed. Turn the adjusting ring so the arrow points to the drill bit marking.
- If the speed comes down extremely, reduce the load or stop immediately to avoid damaging the tool.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Check your drill bit. Use sharp drill bits designed for your material. A dull bit or one meant for metal will struggle in wood. For wood, use bits with a guide screw for best results.
HEADS UP: Always hold the tool firmly with one hand on the grip and the other on the bottom of the battery cartridge to control the twisting action, especially when it binds.
