Do not force it. If the lid is difficult to turn, the cooker is still pressurized. Forcing it open can cause serious injury.
Wait for the unit to cool completely and for all internal pressure to release. The Keep Warm indicator light will turn from blinking to solid when pressure is fully released. Only then should you attempt to turn the lid clockwise to open.
