Diagnosis
The control board is detecting the door isn't fully latched. The door switch or latch mechanism is likely faulty or misaligned.
How to Fix It
First, check the physical latch. Open and slam the door shut firmly—listen for a solid click. If it still beeps, unplug the dryer and inspect the door switch (a small plastic button or lever inside the door frame). Press it manually with a finger to see if it clicks smoothly. If it's sticky or broken, the switch needs replacing.
If That Didn't Work
The wiring harness to the door switch can come loose. Unplug the dryer, remove the top panel (usually two screws at the rear top edge), and trace the wires from the door switch to the main control board. Check for any disconnected plugs.
Heads Up
Never bypass the door switch to make the dryer run—it's a critical safety feature. A replacement switch is a generic part and inexpensive.
