my blink doorbell camera just shows a solid blue light and won’t connect to the app at all, what do i do?

— asked by Casey

Quick answer: A solid blue LED indicates the doorbell is in setup mode. It has failed to complete its initial or subsequent connection to your Wi-Fi network.

Diagnosis

A solid blue LED indicates the doorbell is in setup mode. It has failed to complete its initial or subsequent connection to your Wi-Fi network.

How to Fix It

Perform a full device reset and re-setup. Press and hold the reset button on the back for 15 seconds until the light turns red and then flashes blue. Delete the device from your Blink app. Re-add it using the serial number from the back of the unit or the box. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

If That Didn't Work

The Sync Module may be the issue. Verify the Sync Module is online with a solid green light. Restart the Sync Module by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Try setting up the doorbell again after the module reboots.

Heads Up

During setup, your phone must be connected to the same 2.4 GHz network you are assigning to the doorbell. The app will not find the device if your phone is on 5 GHz.
