my breville bambino plus espresso is just dripping out super slow or not at all. how do i fix this?

— asked by Casey

The coffee is ground too finely, tamped too hard, or the filter basket is blocked.

FIX:

  • Use a slightly coarser coffee grind. It should not feel like powder.
  • Check your dose. Use the Razor™ dose trimming tool after tamping to trim off excess coffee.
  • Tamp with 15–20kg of pressure, no more.
  • If the problem continues, the filter basket holes are likely blocked. Use the pin on the end of the provided cleaning tool to unblock them.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The machine needs to be descaled. Perform a descale cycle. Also, confirm the water tank is full and locked into position.

HEADS UP: As a guide, espresso should start flowing 8–10 seconds after you start the shot. If it starts after 15 seconds, the grind is too fine.
