DIAGNOSIS You are seeing an error code from the machine’s self-test. A number like 2 or 4 indicates a hardware failure detected on startup.
FIX Unplug the brewer from the wall outlet. Wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in firmly. Start a brew cycle without any water or carafe. If the error code returns, the unit needs service.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The main control board has likely failed. This is not user-serviceable. Contact Breville support with the exact error code number.
HEADS UP Do not repeatedly try to brew with this error. It can overheat the thermal coil or pump, causing more damage.
