my epson 2350 projector keeps randomly turning off by itself after 20 minutes or so.

DIAGNOSIS This is a classic overheating shutdown. The projector's thermal sensors are tripping because the internal temperature is too high, triggering an auto-power-off to prevent damage.

FIX Check airflow immediately. Ensure all vents (intakes and exhausts) have at least 3 feet of clear space. Move the projector away from shelves, walls, or cabinets that trap heat. Clean the air filter—it's behind a small door on the intake side. Remove it and gently vacuum or blow it clean with compressed air. A clogged filter is the #1 cause of this.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The lamp might be failing and generating excess heat. Check the lamp hours. A lamp near end-of-life can cause thermal instability. Also, ensure the projector isn't in a very hot room (>95°F / 35°C). If cleaning and repositioning don't work, the internal cooling system (fan or heatsink) may be faulty.

HEADS UP Never place the projector on a soft surface like a bed or carpet, which blocks the bottom intake vents. Always use a hard, flat surface or mount it upside-down from a ceiling, ensuring the vents are unobstructed.
