my food comes out soggy when using the air fryer lid, not crispy at all.

DIAGNOSIS Soggy results usually mean overcrowding. The air fryer function works by circulating hot air, and if you pack the basket too full, the air can't flow around the food to crisp it.

FIX You need to cook in smaller batches. Use a single layer in the basket, leaving space between pieces. Don't stack things on top of each other. Shake or flip the food halfway through the cook time—this is crucial for even crisping. Also, pat your food completely dry with paper towels before adding any oil; moisture is the enemy of crispness.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK You might be using a setting that adds steam. Make sure you're using the "Air Fry" function, not "Roast" or "Bake" for things like fries or wings. The Air Fry function runs the fan constantly at high speed.

HEADS UP Preheat the air fryer lid for 3-5 minutes before adding your food. Putting cold food into a cold air fryer chamber will steam it first, leading to a soggy exterior.
