Additionally, if the water reservoir is not seated with a flush seal, the internal float switch or sensor may prevent the system from booting as a dry-run protection measure, though this usually manifests as an "Add Water" light rather than a total power failure.
How to Fix It
To restore power to your EFIC452-SSRED, follow these precise steps to ensure the electrical circuit is fully closed:
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet entirely to reset the internal surge protector.
- Locate the power inlet port on the rear of the ice maker. Inspect the pins for any shipping debris or plastic packaging fragments that may be blocking the connection.
- Insert the detachable power cord firmly. Do not simply push it in; apply steady, firm pressure until you feel a distinct "click" or the cord bottoms out completely against the chassis. There should be no gap between the cord housing and the machine.
- Ensure the unit is plugged into a grounded 120V AC outlet. Avoid using a surge protector or extension cord for the initial test, as some "smart" strips may perceive the initial capacitor draw of the ice maker as a short and trip the breaker.
