my g30 edge robot vacuum keeps getting lost and can't find its way back to the charging base.

— asked by Alex

DIAGNOSIS: The robot's mapping run was interrupted or it started from a location other than the dock. The G30 Edge relies on remembering its starting point to navigate home.

FIX: Manually place it on the dock and let it charge fully. Then press the AUTO button on the robot (not the app) to start a cleaning cycle. Let it run until it automatically returns and docks. This rebuilds its reference map.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The dock's infrared beacon might be blocked or the room is too dark. Ensure the dock is in an open area, has power, and its front is not obstructed. Add a lamp in a very dark room.

HEADS UP: If you move the dock, you must start the next cleaning cycle from the new dock location. Picking it up and starting it mid-room will disorient it. Always start from 'home'.
