Diagnosis
This is almost always a network compatibility hiccup. The Halo Plus can be picky about connecting to certain router settings, especially if you're using a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz network name (SSID) or have special security protocols enabled.
How to Fix It
You need to isolate the 2.4GHz network for setup. First, go into your router's settings (usually via a web browser). Find the wireless settings and temporarily split your Wi-Fi into two separate networks: one named something like "YourNetwork_2.4G" and another for 5GHz. Make sure the 2.4GHz network is using WPA2 security (not WPA3). Now, on your phone, forget all other networks and connect *only* to that new 2.4GHz network. Finally, restart the Halo Plus camera and run the Motorola Connect app setup again, making sure to select that specific 2.4GHz network when prompted.
If That Didn't Work
The camera might be too far from the router during the initial handshake. Bring both the camera and your phone right next to the router and try the setup process again with the split networks. Also, double-check that you're not using any special characters (like & or %) in your Wi-Fi password.
Heads Up
Once it's successfully connected and updated, you can usually re-combine your Wi-Fi networks if you want, and the camera should stay online. But if you ever factory reset it, you'll likely have to split them apart again for the setup dance.
