A repeated clicking noise during printing usually indicates a paper jam or a foreign object obstructing the paper path.
First, power off and unplug the printer. Open all access doors: the front cartridge door and the rear cover. Carefully remove any torn pieces of paper you can see. Pull jammed paper straight out in the direction of paper travel. Do not yank it.
If that didn't work, the issue might be with the pickup mechanism. Follow the steps to clean the pickup roller:
- With the printer off and unplugged, remove all paper.
- Flip the printer on its side.
- Release the blue latch and remove the panel to access the rollers.
- Wipe each roller with a damp, lint-free cloth. Check for any debris or worn spots.
- Reassemble, reload paper, and test.
Heads up: Always fan paper before loading to prevent multiple sheets from sticking together and causing jams.
