my immersion blender won't turn on when i press the button, just got it, what gives?

The safety lock button must be pressed simultaneously with the speed control button. Your palm should press the safety button while your finger presses the speed button.

Also, the unit needs to be fully charged before first use. A full charge takes 130 minutes. The LED ring will be steady blue when charge is above 50%.
