my lg 27ul500-w monitor won't turn on at all, no light or anything. just got it, what am i doing wrong?

Your external power adapter isn't connected correctly or is faulty.

  1. Check the power cable is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and the adapter.
  2. Check the DC power cord is firmly connected to the back of the monitor and to the adapter.
  3. Try a different wall outlet.
  4. If the monitor still shows no sign of life, the external power adapter is likely defective.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Ensure you're using the correct LG-supplied external power adapter. The AC input must be 100-240Vac, 50/60Hz. Using a different adapter can cause damage.

HEADS UP: In Sleep Mode, power consumption is less than 0.5W. The monitor may appear off but is actually in a low-power state. Press the power button to wake it.
