The battery isn't seated correctly. It's the most common reason for a no-power situation.
- Remove the battery cartridge.
- Reinsert it, pushing it all the way into the tool until it clicks and locks.
- Check the upper side of the battery release button. If you can see the red indicator, it's not locked completely. Insert it fully until the red indicator cannot be seen.
If that didn't work, your battery cartridge might be damaged or not compatible. This tool only works with Makita BL1815N, BL1820B, BL1830, BL1830B, BL1840B, BL1850B, or BL1860B battery cartridges. Using any other battery can cause injury and fire. Inspect the battery contacts and the tool's terminals for debris or damage.
Heads up: Never use a damaged battery. Store batteries away from metal objects like coins or nails to prevent shorting the terminals.
