my portable ac is running but the room isn't getting any cooler, it's set to 65.

DIAGNOSIS Inadequate cooling performance. The primary cause is an undersized unit for the space or excessive heat load/infiltration.

FIX Verify the room size. The MO08CESWK is rated for rooms up to 150 sq ft. Measure your room. Ensure all exterior doors and windows are closed. Close blinds/curtains to block sun. Reduce use of heat-generating appliances (ovens, many lights).

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the air filter. A clogged filter severely restricts airflow. Remove the filter, wash it in lukewarm water, let it dry completely, and reinstall. Do not operate the unit without the filter.

HEADS UP Setting the thermostat to 65°F does not make the unit cool faster. It only sets the target temperature. In a hot room, it will run continuously until it reaches that target, which may be impossible if conditions exceed its capacity.
