my vizio m512a-h6 subwoofer just stopped making any bass sound, the light is on but no output

DIAGNOSIS The subwoofer has power but lost its wireless connection to the soundbar. This is the most common issue with this model.

FIX Re-pair the subwoofer and rear satellites to the soundbar.

  1. Unplug the subwoofer and both rear speakers from power.
  2. Unplug the soundbar from power and wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the soundbar back in. Wait for it to fully power on.
  4. Plug the subwoofer back in. It should automatically search for the soundbar and the LED should turn solid white.
  5. Plug the rear speakers back in. They will also auto-pair. You'll hear a confirmation tone.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The subwoofer's internal amplifier board may have failed. Contact Vizio support for a replacement subwoofer under warranty, as this is a known hardware fault.

HEADS UP Keep the subwoofer within 30 feet of the soundbar and avoid placing it directly behind thick metal furniture, which can block the wireless signal.
