the dialogue from my vizio m512 is really hard to hear but explosions are too loud, even with truvolume on

DIAGNOSIS The center channel, which handles most dialogue, is being drowned out by the other speakers. This is a common surround sound balancing issue.

FIX Boost the center channel level independently.

1. Press the 'Settings' button on the remote until 'Center Level' appears on the display.
2. Use the Volume Up button to increase the level. Try setting it to +3 or +4 to start.
3. Also, ensure your sound mode is set to 'Movie' which emphasizes dialogue clarity over 'Music' or 'Game'.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Disable 'TruVolume' (it can sometimes muffle speech). Press the 'EQ' button to cycle until 'TruVolume' disappears from the display. Then re-adjust the center level.

HEADS UP If you increase the center level above +6, voices can start to sound harsh and distorted. If dialogue is still unclear at that point, the source audio mix may be the problem.
