the display on my m512a-h6 is way too bright and distracting in a dark room, can i turn it off

DIAGNOSIS The front panel brightness is set to 'High' by default and there is no 'Off' setting, only a dimmer mode.

FIX Dim the display to its lowest setting.

1. Press the 'Settings' button on the remote until 'Display' appears on the (bright) display.
2. Press Volume Down to change the setting from 'High' to 'Low'.
3. The display will now only light up briefly when you change a setting, then fade to a very dim standby.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If 'Low' is still too bright, your only option is to physically block it. A small piece of removable black electrical tape placed carefully over the display window is the common owner fix.

HEADS UP In 'Low' mode, the display is nearly invisible in a well-lit room. You'll need to rely on audio cues or the remote's buttons to know your input/volume level.
