myQ worked fine for months then suddenly it won't connect to alexa or google home anymore.

DIAGNOSIS The link between the myQ service and the voice assistant platforms (Amazon Alexa, Google) breaks frequently after Chamberlain updates their API or terms. The skill/action needs to be re-linked.

FIX You need to disable and re-enable the myQ skill/action. For Alexa: Go to the Alexa app > Skills & Games > Your Skills. Find "myQ" and disable it. Then re-enable it and go through the login process again. For Google Home: Open the Google Home app > tap the + > Set up device > Works with Google. Find myQ, unlink your account, then link it again.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Chamberlain sometimes changes the required permissions. When re-linking, pay close attention to the prompts. It might now require you to explicitly grant access to "Door Control" or "Garage Status" separately. Make sure you accept all permissions.

HEADS UP Due to security policies, voice commands through these platforms can usually only CLOSE the door, not open it. If reopening the link only restores status checks but not close commands, that's likely a platform restriction, not a bug.
