i get a burning plastic smell when i use the vent fan on high. is it defective?

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Inspect the cavity for melted plastic utensils or food packaging. Check the waveguide cover for food spatter. Arcing from food debris can cause a burning smell. HEADS UP Always use the specified 50W halogen bulb. Higher wattage bulbs can overheat the socket and wiring.
