Yeah, this one's common. It's not normal operation—it's the electronic protection system kicking in. That click is the power being cut because the battery is either overloaded or getting too hot.
- Stop immediately. Don't force it.
- Take the battery out. Check the charge indicator. No lights means it's depleted, not faulty.
- Let everything cool for a solid 10 minutes.
- Put the battery back in and try a lighter task. If it runs fine, you were just pushing it too hard.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If it clicks and stops immediately on a light task with a full battery, the protection circuit might be overly sensitive or there's a motor issue. Try a different 18V ONE+ battery to rule out the power source.
HEADS UP: These tools have a safety cutoff for a reason. If it's constantly stopping on jobs it used to handle, the battery might be aging and can't deliver peak current anymore.
