DIAGNOSIS A corrupted software update or failed boot sequence. The system cannot load the OS from internal storage.
FIX Attempt a factory reset via remote. Step 1: Ensure the stick is on the frozen Amazon logo screen. Step 2: Hold the Back button and the Right directional button on your remote for 10 seconds. Release. Step 3: If successful, you will see the Fire TV Recovery menu. Use the directional buttons to navigate to 'Wipe data/factory reset' and press Select. Step 4: Confirm by selecting 'Yes'. The stick will reset and reboot. This process takes several minutes.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The remote command may not be received. Perform a hard power cycle. Unplug the stick from power and the HDMI port. Wait two full minutes. Reconnect only the power adapter (use the official one). Wait for the white light to appear. Then connect the HDMI to the TV. If it still hangs, repeat the remote button reset procedure immediately after the logo appears.
HEADS UP A factory reset erases all apps, logins, and settings. You will need to set up the device as new. If this problem recurs after a successful reset, the internal storage may be failing. Contact Amazon support for a potential replacement.
