the air fryer drawer on my ninja crispi pro is really hard to close, feels like I'm forcing it

— asked by Jordan

Quick answer: First, check for obstruction or misalignment. Unplug the unit and pull the drawer all the way out.

First, check for obstruction or misalignment. Unplug the unit and pull the drawer all the way out.

FIX:

  • Inspect the drawer's metal rails and the corresponding tracks inside the oven for any food debris, melted plastic, or bent metal. Clear any debris with a soft brush.
  • Look at the black silicone gasket around the inside of the door. Ensure it's seated correctly in its channel and not pinched or folded.
  • Reinsert the drawer, making sure it's perfectly level and straight as you push it in. Apply even pressure with both hands.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK:

  • Remove the wire rack and crisper plate. Try closing the empty drawer. If it closes smoothly, the rack/plate is misaligned. Reinsert them, ensuring they are fully seated at the back.

HEADS UP: Forcing it can damage the latch mechanism or the glass. If the drawer or tracks appear warped from heat, discontinue use and contact service.
