DIAGNOSIS The anti-drip valve (a small silicone or rubber flap inside the brew head) is either stuck open with coffee oils or has failed.
FIX Unplug the machine and let it cool. Look up into the brew head where the coffee comes out. You'll see a small, dark flap. Use a cotton swab dipped in white vinegar to gently clean around and under the flap to dissolve any sticky residue. Work it loose with the swab. Run a water-only cycle to flush.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The valve may be torn or warped. You'll need to contact Ovente customer service for a replacement brew head assembly, as the valve is rarely sold separately.
HEADS UP The anti-drip system is designed to stop flow when the carafe is removed, but a few drops are normal. Major leaks mean the valve is compromised.
