DIAGNOSIS The Auto-iQ programs are pre-timed, but they have a safety cut-off. If the load is too heavy in the first few seconds, the system thinks it's jammed and shuts down to protect the motor.
FIX You need to help it get started. 1) Unplug the base. 2) Check your layering order. For smoothies, recommends liquid first, then soft ingredients (like yogurt), then frozen fruits and ice on top. 3) Make sure you're not exceeding the "Max Fill" line for the Smoothie program. 4) When you press the button, watch the vortex. If it's not forming immediately, hit the pulse button a few times to break things up, then try Auto-iQ again.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The touchpad for that specific button might be failing. Try another Auto-iQ program (like Frozen Drink) with just water to see if it completes the cycle. If other programs work, it's your recipe. If all programs cut out, it's likely a base electronics issue.
HEADS UP The Auto-iQ programs are smart, but they're not mind readers. If your frozen fruit is one giant solid block from the bag, break it up a little before tossing it in. A chunk of solid strawberry at the bottom will stall the blades instantly.
