DIAGNOSIS Liquid has gotten behind the capacitive touch panel. Even a small amount of moisture or a film of sticky residue can cause phantom touches.
FIX Unplug the blender. Dampen a soft cloth with *only* water or a very mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Wring it out so it's barely damp. Gently but thoroughly wipe the entire glass control panel to remove any grease or residue. Then, use a completely dry, lint-free cloth to buff it completely dry. Let it sit unplugged for a few hours to ensure any internal moisture evaporates.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the problem persists after a perfect clean and dry, the control panel itself might be failing. There's no user fix for this. The entire interface is a sealed unit. You'll need to contact Breville for service.
HEADS UP Never spray cleaner directly onto the control panel. Never use abrasive pads or scrubs. The glass can scratch, and liquid will absolutely seep in around the edges if you flood it. Always apply cleaner to the cloth, not the machine.
