DIAGNOSIS Total power failure points to either the internal fuse blowing or a problem with the main circuit board. These units have a thermal fuse on the motor that can pop.

FIX Unplug the blender. Check the obvious first: is the cord fully plugged into the *back of the blender base*? It's a removable cord, and it can work loose. Push it in firmly. If that's secure, the next step is to check the household fuse or circuit breaker for the kitchen outlet—try a different, known-working outlet with nothing else on it.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If it's dead on multiple outlets, the internal thermal fuse has likely blown. This is a safety device. On this model, accessing it requires disassembling the base, which isn't a user-serviceable part. You'll need to contact Breville support for warranty or repair.

HEADS UP Don't attempt to open the base yourself unless you're very experienced. There are high-voltage capacitors inside that can hold a dangerous charge even when unplugged. You'll also instantly void any remaining warranty.
