You can confirm this by attempting to slide the battery in; if you don't feel a distinct, sharp "click" and the battery can be wiggled with minimal force, the locking mechanism is either worn or obstructed by debris.
How to Fix It
To resolve the instability, you must first isolate whether the wear is on the tool or the battery pack. Follow these steps to stabilize the connection:
