Furthermore, this issue is often compounded by "channeling" within the brew basket. If the coffee is ground too coarsely or if the grounds are not evenly distributed, the hot water finds the path of least resistance and rushes through a few gaps in the coffee bed rather than saturating all the grounds. This means a significant portion of your coffee remains dry or untouched, leaving the final cup tasting weak even when the "Rich" setting is engaged, as that setting primarily adjusts the flow rate and saturation time, not the actual amount of coffee used.
How to Fix It
