DIAGNOSIS The VG248QG uses a TN panel, which has worse color reproduction and viewing angles than IPS monitors. Out of the box, its default settings are also overly bright and cool-toned.
FIX Press the top menu button on the back to open the OSD. Go to Image > Color. First, set Color Temp. to User Mode. Now you can adjust R, G, B sliders. A common decent starting point is R=90, G=90, B=96. Then, go to Splendid > Mode and try Scenery or Standard mode instead of Racing Mode. Finally, lower the Brightness (aim for 60-80) and Contrast (75-80). It'll never be an IPS panel, but this makes it much more palatable.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The problem might be at the source. On an NVIDIA GPU, open NVIDIA Control Panel > Adjust desktop color settings. Set "Digital vibrance" to around 55-60%. On AMD, it's called "Saturation" in the Radeon Settings. This boosts color intensity without messing with the monitor's OSD.
HEADS UP The "Trace Free" (Overdrive) setting in the Image menu is for response time, not color. Setting it too high (like 100) can cause pixel overshoot (inverse ghosting), which can make things look weird. Keep it at 60 or 80 for best balance.
