Diagnosis
The motor controller generates heat, but it should only be warm, not hot. Excessive heat means it's overworking.
How to Fix It
Ensure the desk is on a level floor. An unlevel desk causes the motors to fight each other, overloading the controller. Use a level on the surface. Adjust the foot glides until it's perfectly level.
If That Didn't Work
Check for binding. Manually push down on each corner of the desk when it's at its highest point. If one side has more resistance, that motor is straining. This points back to a column or synchronization issue.
Heads Up
A hot control box is a fire risk long-term. If leveling doesn't fix it, unplug the desk and contact support. Do not cover the control box or pile cables on top of it.
