Diagnosis
A totally dead control panel usually points to a lack of power getting to the main control board. It's not getting the 120V it needs for the brains of the operation.
How to Fix It
First, check the obvious: Is the dryer plugged in firmly at the wall? Is the 240V outlet providing power? You can test the outlet with a multimeter or see if another appliance works in it. Next, and this is a super common culprit on these, check the thermal fuse. It's a one-time safety device on the blower housing. If it blows, it completely cuts power to the control system. You'll need to unplug the dryer, locate the fuse (usually white, with two wires, on the blower housing near the vent exit), and test it for continuity with a multimeter. If it's open, replace it.
If That Didn't Work
If the thermal fuse is good and power is at the outlet, the issue could be the main control board itself has failed. But always rule out the simple power path and thermal fuse first—they're cheaper and easier to fix.
Heads Up
When replacing the thermal fuse, you must figure out why it blew in the first place—usually a restricted vent (see above) or a failing heating element causing overheating. Just swapping it without fixing the root cause means it'll just blow again.
