Diagnosis
The onboard WiFi module in these dryers is notoriously finicky about network types. It often fails to connect or see networks that are 5GHz, have certain security settings (like WPA3), or use special characters in the network name (SSID).
How to Fix It
First, ensure you're connecting to a 2.4GHz WiFi band. The dryer's module does not support 5GHz. You may need to temporarily disable the 5GHz band on your router or create a separate 2.4GHz guest network. Also, simplify your network name and password to only letters and numbers, no spaces or symbols. Then, put the dryer into connection mode by pressing and holding the "WiFi" button on the control panel for 3 seconds until the light starts blinking rapidly.
If That Didn't Work
Perform a hard reset on the dryer's network module. Unplug the dryer for 2 minutes. While it's unplugged, also restart your phone and router. Plug everything back in and try the setup process from the beginning. Sometimes the module just needs a cold boot.
Heads Up
Even once connected, the WiFi connection can be unstable if the dryer is in a marginal signal area. The metal drum acts as a Faraday cage. If connectivity drops often, a simple WiFi extender in the hallway outside the laundry room usually solves it.
