Quick answer: The projector is in High Brightness mode or the ambient temperature is triggering aggressive cooling. The laser light source generates significant heat.

Diagnosis

The projector is in High Brightness mode or the ambient temperature is triggering aggressive cooling. The laser light source generates significant heat.

How to Fix It

Lower the brightness setting. Swipe down from the top of the Android TV home screen to access Quick Settings. Tap the brightness icon and select ECO mode. Verify the air intake (on the sides) and exhaust (rear) vents are completely unobstructed.

If That Didn't Work

Check for a firmware-triggered high-speed fan cycle. Go to Settings > Device Preferences > About > System update to check for and install any pending updates. Some early firmware versions had overactive fan curves.

Heads Up

Sustained loud fan noise followed by a sudden shutdown indicates thermal protection. Immediately turn the unit off and let it cool for 30 minutes in a well-ventilated room before next use.
