Diagnosis
The 5-way navigation joystick is misaligned or the directional press is being misinterpreted. This is often due to pressing the joystick at an angle instead of directly in a cardinal direction.
How to Fix It
Power on the monitor. Press the joystick directly inward (like a button) to open the main OSD. For navigation: use your fingertip to push the joystick straight up, down, left, or right. Do not rock it. A firm, definitive press in one direction registers correctly. Practice navigating the OSD with deliberate, straight-directional presses.
If That Didn't Work
The joystick mechanism may have physical debris. Power off and unplug the monitor. Gently manipulate the joystick through all directions. Use a can of compressed air to blow short bursts around the base of the joystick to dislodge any dust.
Heads Up
Pressing the joystick diagonally (e.g., up-and-right) often registers as an unintended direction or multiple inputs. The long press function (press and hold for 3 seconds to quickly switch inputs) requires a perfectly straight inward press. If the joystick is physically stuck, contact MSI support.
