The total loss of power and a dead display on the Aglucky HZB-12B usually indicates a failure in the electrical continuity path between the wall outlet and the main control board. Since the outlet is verified, the issue is typically a tripped internal thermal overload protector or a blown surface-mount fuse on the PCB. This occurs most frequently when the unit is operated in an environment exceeding 90°F (32°C) or if the condenser coils are clogged with dust, causing the compressor to overheat and trigger a safety shutdown. Another common culprit is a loose connection at the power inlet terminal. Because this model uses a detachable power cord, the tension pins inside the socket can lose contact over time due to vibration during the ice-dropping cycle. If the unit was recently cleaned with a damp cloth, moisture may have seeped into the control panel housing, causing a momentary short that tripped the internal protection circuit to prevent a full board burnout.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to restore power to the unit. Be careful when working with electrical components to avoid shock.
- Completely disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and the back of the machine.
- Inspect the pins of the detachable power cord for any signs of charring, bending, or oxidation. If the pins look dull or blackened, clean them with a cotton swab dipped in 90% isopropyl alcohol.
- Locate the power inlet socket on the rear of the HZB-12B. Use a flashlight to ensure no debris or plastic shards are obstructing the socket.

If That Didn't Work
- Perform a Hard Thermal Reset: Unplug the machine and leave it disconnected for exactly 60 minutes. This allows the thermal overload protector (a bi-metallic strip) to cool down and snap back into the closed position. If the unit was running in a hot garage or tight cabinet, this is the most likely solution.
- Check for "Ice Jam" Lockout: In some rare cases, if ice has frozen solidly around the sensing pins, the board may enter a safety lockout. Use a hairdryer on a low-heat setting to gently warm the exterior of the control panel and the top of the ice basket area for 2-3 minutes, then attempt to power on.
- Inspect the Internal Fuse: If you are comfortable opening the chassis, remove the base screws and locate the main PCB. Look for the small glass or ceramic fuse. Use a multimeter to check for continuity. If the fuse reads "OL" (Open Loop), the fuse has blown and must be replaced with an identical amperage rating to restore power.
- Test with a Universal C13 Cable: The HZB-12B uses a standard power cable. Try a compatible cable from another small appliance (like a computer monitor or printer) to determine if the failure is within the cable's internal wiring rather than the machine itself.
