the power light just blinks and it won't respond to any buttons. unplugging doesn't fix it.

DIAGNOSIS A blinking power light with no response is the machine's way of saying it's in an error state or failed a self-check, usually related to temperature.

FIX This requires a full hard reset. Unplug the machine from the wall. Empty all water from the reservoir AND the internal tank (you can tip the whole unit carefully over a sink to drain the internal tank via the fill hole). Leave it unplugged and dry for at least 30 minutes. This lets the internal control board fully discharge and the temperature sensors reset. After 30 mins, plug it back in with the reservoir empty. If the light goes solid, add water and try a cycle.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The thermal overload protector on the compressor might have tripped if it was running constantly. After the 30-minute rest, feel the back of the unit near the bottom. If it's extremely hot to the touch, let it cool completely in a well-ventilated area before trying again.

HEADS UP If the blinking persists after a proper hard reset, it often points to a failed control board or sensor. There aren't user-serviceable error codes on this model, so that's usually a warranty/service call situation.
