Diagnosis
Incorrect sensor cook results are caused by sensor interference. The humidity sensor is being triggered prematurely or blocked.
How to Fix It
Follow the sensor cook protocol exactly. Use only microwave-safe containers that are wider than they are tall. Cover the food with a vented lid or wax paper. Do not use metal or foil. The cavity must be clean, especially the sensor area on the right side wall. Wipe it with a damp cloth. For Popcorn, use only bags labeled for microwave use and place the bag flat on the turntable. Press the Popcorn button once for a 3.5 oz bag.
If That Didn't Work
The sensor may be faulty. You can calibrate it. Place 1 cup of room-temperature water in a measuring cup in the center of the turntable. Press Reheat. The cycle should run for approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds. If it runs significantly longer or shorter, the sensor calibration is off.
Heads Up
The sensor detects steam. Starting with frozen food, using a very small amount of food, or an overly dry food will confuse the sensor. For those items, use manual time and power level instead.
