the steam function on my samsung dryer isn't doing anything, clothes come out just as wrinkled.

DIAGNOSIS The steam function requires water to work. If no steam is being produced, the most likely culprit is that the water supply isn't connected, turned on, or is blocked.

FIX First, confirm the basics. 1. Is the included blue water supply hose connected to both the dryer's steam inlet (on the back, labeled) and to a cold water faucet? 2. Is the faucet valve fully turned on? 3. Check that the inlet screens inside the dryer's water connection aren't clogged with sediment (you can unscrew the hose to check). 4. Run a manual 'Steam Refresh' cycle on an empty drum and listen closely. You should hear a faint solenoid valve click and the sound of water trickling in after a few minutes.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal water valve or the steam generator/heater assembly could be faulty. If you don't hear the click or any water sound during the test, the electronic valve isn't opening. If you hear water but no steam, the heater might be out.

HEADS UP This dryer uses a significant amount of water for steam. Make sure your drain setup can handle the extra discharge, as it will pump out the unused water at the end of the cycle.
