Diagnosis
The coating is delaminating due to thermal stress from rapid cooling or physical abrasion.
How to Fix It
Stop use. Flaking coating will snag and damage hair. Contact BaBylissPRO customer service with your serial number. This is often a warranty issue if within the period.
If That Didn't Work
Out of warranty, the only fix is replacing the plate assembly. The coating cannot be reapplied.
Heads Up
Do not continue using flaking plates. Titanium flakes are not harmful, but the underlying metal will overheat and burn hair.
