Diagnosis
The USB-C port is not providing sufficient power delivery (PD) or a stable data connection. The M27Q X's USB-C port provides up to 15W PD, which is below many laptop requirements.
How to Fix It
Check your laptop's power requirements. If it needs more than 15W (e.g., most modern MacBooks or gaming laptops), the USB-C port will not charge it adequately. Use the laptop's original charger for power. The USB-C port should still work for video and data KVM functions while the laptop uses its own power brick.
If That Didn't Work
Use the included USB-C cable that came with the monitor. Third-party cables may not support the full video/data/power specification. Ensure the cable is firmly plugged into both the monitor and the laptop.
Heads Up
The USB-C port's primary function is for single-cable KVM connectivity, not high-wattage charging. It is designed to power small devices or maintain charge on ultraportables, not to be a primary laptop power source.
