DIAGNOSIS The printer's wireless connection is unstable. Common causes are IP address conflicts, weak signal, or router incompatibility.
FIX Assign a static IP address to the printer. On the printer, print a network configuration report. Navigate: Menu > Reports > Network Config. Note the MAC address and current IP. Access your router's admin page. Find the DHCP reservation or static IP assignment section. Assign the printer's MAC address a fixed IP outside the DHCP pool. Reconnect the printer to the network using the new IP settings via the control panel.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The router's wireless channel may be congested. Use a Wi-Fi analyzer app. Change your router's 2.4 GHz channel to 1, 6, or 11, whichever is least congested. Also, in the printer's wireless advanced settings, set the 'Wireless Signal' to 'Normal' instead of 'High'. This can improve stability.
HEADS UP Power-saving modes can disrupt connectivity. Disable 'Sleep Mode' in the printer's menu under 'General Setup' to test. If stability improves, you can adjust the timer to a longer period, but not disable it completely.
