DIAGNOSIS Noise localized to the floor nozzle indicates a problem with the brush roll or its drive system.
FIX Power off and unplug. Remove the pod from the floor nozzle. Turn the nozzle over and open the brush roll cover. Remove the brush roll. Inspect both ends of the brush roll shaft and the corresponding plastic bearing slots in the nozzle housing. Look for worn plastic, melted areas, or debris. Clean thoroughly. Manually spin the brush roll to feel for grit or binding. Reinstall, ensuring it spins freely before closing the cover.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The drive belt that connects the motor to the brush roll may be worn, glazed, or misaligned. Inspect the belt for cracks, stretching, or a shiny surface. Replace if necessary. A persistent whine after cleaning points to worn bearings in the brush roll motor assembly.
HEADS UP Regularly clearing hair wrap from the brush roll ends is critical. Accumulated hair transfers friction and heat to the plastic bearings, causing them to warp and create noise.
