DIAGNOSIS The wireless setup process is timing out. This is typically due to an incompatible router security setting or signal interference during the handshake.
FIX Use the WPS push-button method. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer's top panel until the alarm lamp flashes once. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router. The printer will connect automatically.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Temporarily change your router's security to WPA2-PSK (AES) only. Disable any concurrent dual-band (2.4GHz/5GHz with same SSID) settings. Run the wireless setup again from the printer's control panel.
HEADS UP The Canon PRINT app is required for initial mobile setup. Ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band of your network, not 5GHz, before starting the app's setup process.
