vitamix 5200 won't turn on, no lights, no sound, nothing. checked the outlet.

DIAGNOSIS No power is reaching the motor or control board. The thermal overload protector may be tripped open, or the internal fuse is blown.

FIX First, unplug it. Let it sit for a full hour to cool. Plug it into a different, known-good outlet. Try turning it on. If it works, the thermal protector was tripped. If still dead, the internal line fuse (on the control board) is likely blown. This requires disassembly to check and replace.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The power cord or its connection to the board may be faulty. With the unit disassembled, check for continuity in the cord and secure spade connectors at the board.

HEADS UP A blown fuse usually indicates a short circuit elsewhere, like in the motor or switch. Replacing the fuse without finding the root cause may cause it to blow again or create a fire hazard.
