Because the machine vibrates during the ice-dropping cycle, a slightly loose fitting can eventually vibrate completely apart, allowing water to seep directly into the base of the unit. Another frequent culprit is "condensation runoff" caused by a clogged internal air vent or an improperly seated gasket around the freezing plate. If the internal temperature fluctuates or the unit is placed too close to a wall, moisture builds up on the exterior of the internal components and drips down the chassis walls, pooling at the bottom. You can confirm a plumbing leak by filling the reservoir with a small amount of food coloring; if the water leaking from the bottom is tinted, you have a structural leak in the tank or tubing. How to Fix It
